Class=Money...maybe

First I'd like to apologize for not posting yesterday and supporting my fellow bloggers. I'll try to not let that happen again. I need your support, you need mine. Click Click. I have 16 followers and I thank you all.

School has started. 4 classes, 12 credits, blah blah. I'm trying to be a better writer, I want to turn what I say into gold. This blog is the first step, but I have a larger plan. I always figured I could use my school work to make money. This semester doesnt really lend itself to that for the most part, but my Mixed Media class requires that I turn in 100 pages of notes at the end of the semester, these notes can be on anything and can include pictures and drawings. This is perfect to develop my video game idea. Yes, a video game idea. I have no idea how propose one professionally as there's not alot of literature on it like there is on screenwriting. However, if I have 100 pages to develop my concept I figure I'll be in good shape. If there's any aspiring artist who want to expand a portfolio, get at me. I'll need lots of concept art.  I'll use this blog to document the progress of my work.

In short, the game concept will center around a group of 25th century scouts that are paid to explore a new world, itll be open play sandbox style rpg. there'll be a main 'quest' of sorts, but the predominate feature will be the danger in open exploration and gathering information on flora and fauna as you attempt to clear the way for new world colonizers. Have any ideas? you know what to do.

  1. That actually sounds pretty good, it's hard to pull too many variations on the standard themes of video games, I wish you the best in trying to create diversity.

  5. Good luck man, looking forward to your future posts. And btw I like Lightman more than House just because Lightman is a more, hmmm "happy" character. House is a very interesting character, don't get me wrong. But Lightman is more charismatic in my opinion.

  7. Beware of too much freedom. If you don't lay down the tracks for a primary quest then nothing of consequence will ever get done. That doesn't mean that you should railroad them, but make sure that there are constant reminders of what they should be doing. Are they supposed to get some corp to ease taxes off an off-world colony? Make players pay massive taxes for the gear they want to purchase there, etc. Hope that helps.
